The shock of mid-life dating and the good ol’ rebound man.

They show up in their 40’s remembering the good old days, “the one that got away”, or the times they forgot to appreciate spending with you when you two were in your 20s. It is far too often an occurrence and the attempt “a second time around” seems to only workout fifty-percent of the time. For every Nelly and Ashanti there’s an Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Why is “the second time around” so appealing anyway?

Are we all just lazy as hell after the age of 35 when it comes to dating? Are folks just too damn lazy to dress up on a Saturday night and throw on a little cologne or perfume in an effort to show yourself off to strangers? This “get out here and strut your stuff” thing was something most couldn’t wait to do in their 20’s, but at the 40+ age bracket it begins to feel like a damn chore. *side eye*
